"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for checking out my page!
I'm a traditional artist, and I work mainly in oils. I got my basic art education and my BA at the Art Institute of Boston and learned everything else I ever needed to know about sci fi and fantasy illustration at The Illustration Masterclass.
I just wanted to thank you all for the wonderful comments and favorites! It's really gratifying to know that people enjoy my work, so thank you for the support and kind words!
I found you through reading Imagine FX magazine. The article was about Dan Dis Santos but he had one of your pieces on there and credited you for it.
I'm really glad I stopped by here on DA becuase your work is breathtaking.
I have a question about oil painting if it is not too much trouble?
Is is possible to use oil paints on paper if you apply a few coats of fixative spray first? I heard this on a website but was not completely sure so wanted to ask an oil painting artist.
Yeah, you could definitely paint with oil paints on paper, but I'd think you would need to also prep the paper with gesso before you paint on top of it. You don't want the oils from the paint soaking in to the paper, and spray fix wouldn't be enough to stop it.
You also could try putting a few coats of clear gesso or acrylic medium on top of the drawing... that should be enough to seal it.
Your best bet would probably be to use Donato Giancola's method of mounting drawings on to board before painting, since it makes the surface more stable because it's not bending. You can see how he does it here: [link]
